Beta v1.1 Release Notes

Faster performance. New category-by-day report. User experience improvements.

New Features

  • New Category-by-day Report

    • Report shows daybreaks and all elements contained in that day, for one specific category

  • New Homepage

    • We re-designed the homepage to accommodate an upcoming feature: “My Productions”

    • Added a new left-side-bar for navigation

  • New “Submit Feedback” form that does not rely on Google Forms (some users weren’t able to submit without Google Accounts, so we migrated to Typeform as a service")

Improvements / Bug Fixes

  • Improved speed of dragging & dropping strips, and inputting data.

    • Problem:

      • Some of our beta users who built files with many hundreds / thousands of strips reported slow performance once the file got large.

    • Solution:

      • We re-wrote the visual rendering engine behind the Stripboard to “virtualize” the list. Dragging, dropping, and scrolling through thousands of strips should be snappy now.

      • We are incrementally re-writing visual components throughout our app to use CSS instead of Javascript to further improve load times, speed, and usability. This will be a continual effort over the next few weeks. Expect things to get faster each week.

  • UI Polish and pixel-perfect adjustments to

    • “Create a report” modal

    • “Filtering reports” modal

  • Stripboard Manager, Calendar Manager, Layout Manager, and Color Manager have all been updated so that when you open the manager, the currently-active Board / Calendar / Layout / Color is already highlighted in the list.

  • Fixed the sort-order in the Reports Manager so that most-recently-created report is top of list.

  • Fixed the “rename” functionality so that the pre-filled name is correct

  • Fixed the sort-order within Element Manager > Background Category > Background Quantities list
