NEW Compact Interface
Dozens of users have requested us to minimize the amount of white-space we have in the Breakdown Sheet, Stripboard and Element Manager so that you can see more information. We realize that all of you are “power users” and need a program that reduces time spent scrolling / clicking / using your mouse. We’re going to continue our effort to shave these seconds off your workflow — let us know what else we can do here to help you fly through Cinapse faster.
Breakdown Sheet
Reduced input-field heights
Reduced field-label font size
Reduced spacing between element-chips
Reduced height of element-category rows
Removed the divider that said “Elements” because that was obvious and you all know what it is
Stripboard
Reduced padding between strips
(Coming soon) we’ll give you a toggle that allows you to turn on/off padding between strips entirely
Element Manager
Reduced height of each element-row in the Elements table
NEW Color Picker
Another highly requested feature by our users. We redesigned the color-palette color picker so that you can now:
Choose any custom color. Added a hue color-picker that allows you to select any color perceivable by human eyeballs.
Eye-dropper to pull colors from MMS. Want the exact same color palette as your board in MMS? Pull up Cinapse and MMS side-by-side on your monitor, and then use the EYE-DROPPER tool in the Cinapse color picker to grab the colors from your Movie Magic file. Hurray.
Input #HEX codes for specific colors. You can input 6-digit HEX color codes to get specific colors. Copy and paste this code into your other Color Palette cells to get exact shades duplicated.
Added pure black and white color swatches. Added black and white to the picker.
Added “lime-yellow” color swatch. Added the default “lime-yellow” that comes standard with all default Cinapse color palettes when you first create a file. Now you can get that yellow.
Miscellaneous bug fixes / feature requests
Fixed duplicate Background elements bug. Fixed a crazy bug where some users would get in a state where adding a BG element would add many duplicates of that element. We think we fixed this, contact us if it’s still happening to you.
Fixed cut-off element-name bug. Fixed a bug where editing an element’s name and clicking ‘Save’ would end up saving only a partial text-string. For example: “Pistols” would save as “Pisto”
Shooting Schedule CSV improvements. Added Daybreaks and Text Banners to the CSV export.
Report filter by Shooting-Day Range. Fixed a bug where the dropdown to switch between Date-Range and Shooting-Day would disappear.
Updated homepage design - Pt 1. Re-arranged layout of homepage. New dark-mode homepage design coming soon.
“Add text-banner below” bug. Fixed bug where the right-click menu option to “Add text banner below” wasn’t working properly.
Fixed “Element ID” not appearing for BG elements. Fixed bug where Element ID was not modifiable for non-Cast elements. This field is now visible in Element Manager, thank you Greg!
One liner cast list. Made the cast-list = 3 columns so that all the cast fit on one page.
Known bugs we’re working on.
Scriptation Import bug with Synopsis field. If you attempt to import a newer version of a script into your Cinapse file, there is a bug where the scenes that need updating will incorrectly clear the Synopsis and Notes field and replace it with an empty value. This is because Scriptation doesn’t contain any Synopsis data, and the import is accidentally replacing your Cinapse synopsis with “nothing”. We are going to fix this hopefully by Thursday.
Also, FYI —- when you import a new script into Cinapse that has the same exact Ep + Scene numbers, the elements in the breakdown sheet will be ADDED to, not REPLACED, by the newer version of the script. Therefore, any elements you added to Cinapse that weren’t in your Scriptation file won’t be impacted. The flip-side of this is, if you DELETE a tag in Scriptation and import that file into Cinapse, the breakdown sheet will still show that element because it is only an additive operation.
