Version 1.7

Reports now match your strip designs. New “Events Manager” for red flags and all element-specific events (travels, fittings, rehearsals, etc).

New “Events Manager”

Red Flags and Orange Flags. Red flags and orange flags functionality is exactly the same as how it was before, no changes here.

Added “element-specific” events. We’ve added the ability to add element-specific events to the Events Manager. This allows customers to manage all flags, fittings, rehearsals, etc for all their elements — in one consolidated space. Users can now add the following event types:

  • Red Flag

  • Orange Flag

  • Fitting

  • Camera Test

  • Rehearsal

  • Travel

  • Manual Start Work

  • Manual Work Finish

Add events per episode. You also have the option to add events specifically by each episode. For example, you can add a Rehearsal for just “1. Richard (Ep 101)”

Add “production-wide” events to Events Manager. Any events you created in the Calendar Manager’s production-wide calendar (eg. Start Production, Company Travel, Company Holiday), will now appear in the Events Manager for more clarity. These events can only be edited in Calendar Manager.

Reports Styling Overhaul

New One-Liner and Shooting Schedule. Reports now match the font-sizes, spacing, and styling of strips in your file. This was highly requested by many customers, and we switched to something called “React-to-PDF” in order to make this happen.

Ability to upload PDFs to Reports Manager. Customers wanted the ability to upload PDFs from their own desktop / device into Cinapse. You can now do this by clicking the “Upload file” button.

Important re-work of “Save Report” functionality
You cannot “save” reports to your Reports Manager directly anymore. Instead, please use the Upload File functionality to curate which PDF files you want visible to the whole team.

The new workflow is:

  1. Go to Reports Manager

  2. Click Create Report button

  3. Click “Print Preview”

  4. The Print Dialog will automatically open after a few seconds. From here, choose “Save as PDF” from your “Printers” dropdown.

  5. Save the PDF to your device.

  6. Go back to Reports Manager, and Upload the PDF file.

Text-wrapping

Added “wrap text” setting to Strip Designer. You can now set specific cells in your strip-design to “wrap text” which means it won’t cut off text in your reports. This was a common problem with the CAST section in strips, where the reports would truncate the content with a “…”.

Now you have the option to control if content is trimmed with “…” or allow strips to grow in height to fit all the relevant information.

Bug fixes

List Report load-times. Fixed an issue where “List” report types would take a very long time to generate in large files. Should load instantly now.

Element links and anchors for “built-in” categories like “Set”. Fixed an issue element-anchors for categories like “Set” or “Location” or “Unit” were not appearing in the list of anchors. This was a filtering issue, and we have resolved it. Thanks Emily.

Reports without Daybreaks. Fixed an issue where users encountered a blank empty screen if they accidentally tried to create a DooD report for a board that had zero daybreaks. This now displays an error message, as this shouldn’t be possible.

Removed the ability to “copy” a strip in stripboard. We only allow users to duplicate and cut strips now. Copy was redundant and confusing — so we’ve removed it.

Remove multiple elements in Breakdown Sheet at a time. Fixed an issue where deleting elements via the right-click-menu was only deleting one element instead of all the selected elements.
