Version 1.18
⬆️ Unit Breaks (Part 1 of 2)
The highly requested feature “Unit Breaks” is now available in the app! You can now add this new banner-type using the toolbar above the Stripboard to demarcate which strips belong to MAIN UNIT vs. 2ND UNIT vs. TANDEM UNIT, etc.
Here’s what’s available in today’s Part 1 release:
Unit Breaks in Stripboard View
In Stripboard view, use the new icon in the toolbar to add “Unit Breaks”
When you add a Unit Break, a menu will appear prompting to you assign the Unit Break to a Unit.
You can choose from an existing Unit you’ve created in the past, or simply type a new Unit Name to create a new one
Each Unit Break type will have it’s own day-count number
Unit Breaks Editor
When you click on a Unit Break, an editor panel will open on the left side of your screen
From here, you can modify basic styling (font-weight, size, background color, etc)
Click on the cell to the right of the DAY #, and this is where you can input CUSTOM NOTES (eg. AD’s names associated with this Unit, etc)
⚠️ Further customization of content & layout of Unit Breaks will be available in the next release
Unit Breaks in Calendar View
Unit Breaks are essentially a new type of strip, so they will naturally all show up in the Calendar View by default (see screenshot)
Filter reports by Unit
You can filter ONE LINERS and SHOOTING SCHEDULES by Unit now.
⚠️ In order for filtering-by-unit in reports to be accurate, you need to go through your existing breakdown sheets and assign each sheet to a {Unit}. If you haven’t been using this field already, the data input field is located in the upper-portion of the breakdown sheet form.
⚠️ Quick tip to make assigning strips to units a fast process
- Click on a strip
- In the Breakdown Sheet, enter a value for the {Unit} field
- Click on the label of the field where it says “Unit” so you see a blue-selected-border around the Unit data
- CMD+C to copy
- Shift-click multiple strips on the stripboard
- CMD+V to bulk paste that {Unit} value to all the desired strips
More functionality coming in our next update:
DooD View will track work-statuses PER UNIT
Ability to customize the default layout & styling of unit-breaks
Pre-shoot days
We’re adding the ability to configure daybreaks to not count toward the official shooting daycount, so you can have pre-shoot day content in the stripboard.
🛠️ Bug fixes and Misc Improvements
Upgraded the sign-up and user authorization flow
Upgraded typescript from 4 to 5
Upgraded TRPC from 9 to 11
Fixed bug where one of the “Create report” buttons was not allowing users to generate a DooD report
Fixed bug where page-totals and estimated time totals in the daybreak would not update until after you moved a strip on the stripboard. Please let us know if you still are encountering this one, as it appears to occur in specific cases and is hard for us to replicate consistently.
