Version 1.5

This release is Part 1 of a 2-part series of updates dedicated to improving existing features in our app. Better Reports. Faster DooDs. More Hotkeys.

Reports Re-design (Part 1)

Text banners finally center-align text correctly. As many of you have noticed, the text-banners in One Liner and Shooting Schedule reports weren’t centered because there was an optional cell reserved for “Estimated time” that we were unable to hide. The visual off-centering was driving us nuts, it was driving you nuts. We fixed this one — sorry it took so long.

Filter reports by date range. We found a bug where filtering by date range wasn’t working properly. We fixed it. Works for all report-types, including DooDs.

Filter reports by episode and element. Minor improvements to the filter-by-episode and filter-by-element(s) functionality. This can be accessed if you scroll down to the bottom of the “Create report” menu.

Part 2 of this Reports re-design effort (happening next week) will include:
- More information dense DooDs Reports.
- Switching to React2PDF for One-Liner and Shooting Schedule so that your PDF Report looks 1:1 to your design in the Stripboard.
- Add text-wrapping functionality in strips so that text doesn’t get cut off with “…” in the PDF reports.

Faster DooDs

Sped up DooD View loading time. A handful of our customers have over 1000+ strips in their files with extremely large datasets of elements. This has pushed our DooD calculation algorithm to its limit and caused painfully slow load times for the DooDs view (20-30 seconds+). We investigated and rewrote parts of the algorithm and reduced load times down to 5 seconds. We will continue optimizing other features in the app that feel sluggish, as you all continue to build larger and larger files (which is a good thing!)

New hotkey to expand full-screen / minimize to split-panel

Toggle full-screen vs. split-panel. We’ve added an “Expand” and “Collapse” arrow icon next to the panel-name in the upper left corner of your Stripboard / Scrapyard / DooD / Breakdown Sheet. Click this and it will toggle your view to full-screen and split-screen quickly. We also added a hotkey to access this toggle functionality faster.

FDX Imports

Fixed a bug where some Final Draft script files weren’t importing. We had two separate customers encounter an issue where their FDX files failed to import after adding certain tags into the file. We have resolved this bug — please try re-uploading the same file and it should work now.

Visual bug of hidden episode # fields when importing Multiple Files, discovered by Sergio. One of our power-users (thank you Sergio) encountered a bug when testing the new Import MULTIPLE FDX files feature where the input fields for entering the EPISODE # for each file was missing a border. We are still investigating why this happens (it might be a HIGH CONTRAST setting on the user’s monitor or system preferences) that makes the fields disappear. If you hover-over the area underneath the label “Episode #” you will be able to click into and input a value for that field. We will come up with a solution in the next release!
